Fees
The evaluation fee will be discussed with you when you call to make an appointment. Once we meet in person and determine what services you will need, the ongoing fee will be discussed then. Fees are determined based upon the type of services you may need. Frequency of services needed will also be discussed with you and is dependent on the complexity of problems you present with.
I am not a member of any insurance panels; I am a one-man show and there is a considerable amount of extra paperwork hours needed in order to be affiliated. However, I will be more than happy to help you obtain any out-of-network reimbursement that you are entitled to through your insurance company. You will be responsible for obtaining the necessary forms and well as coordinating any communication with insurance companies when needed. I am not a Medicare or Medicaid provider.
Payment of the fee is expected upon each visit, including the evaluation; people seen on a more frequent basis will be billed at the beginning of the following month. I can accept checks, cash, or credit card (via PayPal Mobile; please be aware that you will be charged a 4% service fee if using a credit card).
Payment is expected and is not contingent upon reimbursement from insurance.
My understanding is that my fee is mid-range for my area. Please bear in mind that I have advanced training in other areas compared to a general psychiatric practitioner, so you are getting more expertise. I also do not charge for telephone calls (as long as they are 10 minutes or less) or medication refills. With time, like other services in life, there will be fee raises but I try to limit them to once every 3-5 years.
Life is tough sometimes and can throw unexpected loops our way. In the event that you are temporarily unable to pay your fee, please discuss it with me and we can set up a payment plan. In certain situations, if there is an overdue balance, treatment may need to be temporarily stopped (except in emergencies) until full payment is received. Any overdue payments may be be turned over to a collection agency.

Cancellations
Please be courteous to others and keep your appointment day and time. There will not be a reminder call made. This is a working partnership and I expect you to be a responsible partner as well.
In the event that you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance so that I may be able to schedule someone else who can use that time slot. If you do not cancel in a timely manner, you may be charged a fee for your missed/late cancelled session as someone else may have been able to use it. Think of it as renting your time.
