The Evaluation Process
If you are coming on board as a new private patient, then I will arrange for you to have an evaluation session.
The evaluation process is a 90 minute session that is unique and different for everyone. You are invited to come in and talk about any struggles, symptoms, and anything on your mind. I will then give you an assessment of what I think may be going on as well as the most appropriate available options for your treatment. Together, you and I will create a plan that makes sense for you to best help your situation. The evaluation process will also give us both a chance to get to know each other as comfort in a relationship is the foundation of a strong working partnership. If needed, the evaluation process can be extended so that we both have enough time to really understand what is happening and plan accordingly.
I believe strongly that people should be aware and knowledgeable about their situations and conditions so I will do my best to educate you. I encourage you to ask questions during the evaluation process.
An evaluation session is not a guarantee of continued treatment with me, but if I need to refer you out, I will try to give you referrals before you leave. This situation usually applies to situations when a person may need more services that I alone can provide.
